MURIEL MORWITZER-BAECHTOLD

Mumu was born in Switzerland and found her love for dance and movement as a teenager. Through training at the Laban Centre in London she was introduced to Pilates which enhanced her dance technique, flexibility and strength a lot. After taking a year off and not keeping up with her Pilates practice, she suffered a back injury from going back to dance training. They told her she would never dance again. Despite that back injury as well as an unforseen pregnancy, Pilates pulled her through and 18 months later she stood on stage again. Mumu’s desire to understand movement and help people with injuries to live pain-free was ignited through her own experiences, and her passion for Pilates has not stopped since.

Mumu holds a Diploma in Contemporary Pilates & Teaching Methodology, is a Lecturer and Assessor for art of motion training in movement, holds a Diploma in Contemporary Dance, Physical Theater Teacher and Choreographer and is the Principle of Sense of Space Contemporary Pilates Margaret River.

BREE WOODWARD-GRAY

Bree grew up in Auckland, New Zealand. From the age of 5 she trained in Classical Ballet and Modern Jazz in which she gained her teaching Diploma. At the age of 17 Bree was introduced to snowboarding, left Auckland and moved south to Queenstown where she pursued her passion of freestyle park and pipe snowboarding. Bree injured her back one season before setting off on the chase of the never-ending winter for 3 years and was told by practitioners to try Pilates, but being on the move she was unable to find a suitable studio. Taking a break for a Canadian summer years late and still suffering from niggling back pain, she finally took up Pilates & was amazed that the next winter back on the snow, her core strength and stability improved greatly, helping her progress in snowboarding more than ever before without pain (a big plus!). She continued to practice Pilates when she moved to Margaret River for work, and learnt to surf.

Bree started her training in Matwork in 2010 and just completed her Certificate IV with art of motion. Bree now trains and teaches at Sense of Space Margaret River on her swing off from the mines.

DEBBIE HOLT

Debbie was borne in England, but migrated to Australia at the age of 2. Making the most of the sunshine her parents exposed her to all sorts of sports. As long as Debbie can remember she has loved being physical. At the age of 17 she attained her first Dan Black Belt. Through the Kata (Martial Arts Dance movements) Debbie found her deep passion for the body and movement.

Debbie became the mum of four, as a parent she had less time for fitness. She felt how she became noticably stiffer and sore, she didn't feel as energetic, flexible and balanced to when she had her physical outlet, but besides her body it also effected her mental wellbeing.

Debbie opend up Seabreez Beauty, doing massage and beauty, to balance her well-being. But it was in her 40's when she started her Contemporary Matwork- Pilates training where she re-discovered her passion for movement. She believes that Matwork- Pilates has given her the ability to explore her physical, emotional and mental body. Debbie feels blessed to have the oportunity to shrae this unique training system through which she achieved inner stregth, physical endurance, a balanced musclar tone, flexibility, grace and well-being.
