Nicole's 500th Class at Sense of Space!

We are so proud of Nicole, who started with one of first beginner courses five years ago and completed her 500th class last month!  Nicole's dedication has seen her move away from chronic pain by strengthening from the inside out.  Nicole has been with us since the beginning and feels like part of the Sense of Space family!

Q. Tell us about yourself.

I have been fortunate to have many diverse opportunities in my life. I have had careers in the music industry and the event management industry and my work as taken me all over the world. I lived in Japan for many years, which I loved, but now I am settled in Subiaco. These days I work for WA Health and I enjoy working in an field that makes a difference.
I prioritise my family, friends and my furry shadow (on the right in the
picture). My favourite things are pilates, yoga, mindfulness and a warm beach with a good book.

Q. How long have you been practicing Pilates & Yoga?

7 years

Q. Why did you start?

I started pilates when I was recovering from a serious accident and in pain most days. I was looking for exercise that would make me stronger from the inside and help me to understand my body.

Q. How has your practice changed over time?

As my core strength has improved, and my understanding has deepened, I have been able to do more, with better technique – and become almost completely pain free.

Q. What brings you back to the mat week after week?

The desire to get stronger and the encouragement of the great teachers and friends I have met.

Q. How long have you been coming to Sense of Space?

5 years – ever since Sense of Space opened. I did a Beginner’s Course with Martina and then started regular classes with Leonie.
I recently completed my 500th class!

Q. What is your favourite thing about Sense of Space?

I love that each week I still see some of the same teachers I've had from the beginning and that they know my strengths and weaknesses. I love the friendly community atmosphere where people genuinely care about each other. I also love the recent addition of yoga and mindfulness that adds another layer to our practice... strengthening mind and body.
