What is FAMO/Fascia Movement?

Fascia Movement is unique as it focuses on the fascial tissue (your body's most infuential connective tissue system) that connect everything in the body, and helps to stimulate and move that tissue to reduce pain, improve movement fluidity and create a fuly integrated, structually balanced body.

When our body has a strong physical foundation, we are more physically resilient. If you were to stumble on a curb, your muscles and tendons will more likely react to dynamically stabilise you, rather than you rolling your ankle. What is less commonly understood, is that when we are more physically resilient, we become more emotionally and mentally resilient too. The benefits of Fascia Movement is looked at through two lenses - the body focused lense and the psycho-emotional lense. One stream may be more appealing to you than the other, but you will benefit from both regardless.

Fascia is our largest sensory organ. When you train fascia correctly, you discover and can tap into a rich inner world of sensation, awareness and knowing that strengthens your self confidence and tunes your "gut" feelings. When fascia is well-conditioned, muscles, joints, the brain, and internal organs, even gut feelings, function much, much better.

Adding therapeutic grade essential oils to these workshops allows us to fast track the psycho-emotional benefits of our fascial movement training. We use a variety oils in each workshop each for a different purpose, whether that be helping us to connect with our breath, to help ground us, reduce mental chatter, to help soften the activity of our sympathetic nervous system (our flight or fight response) and help us feel calm and relaxed. When we allow our parasympathetic nervous system to be more dominant (our rest and digest), we can make changes in our body faster and these changes stick more quickly. We can also tap into these results every time we simply take the lid off a bottle and breathe in.

Fascia movement is an incredibly intelligent movement system. Essential oils harness mother nature's intelligence. Together they fast track and amplify your results.

Please bring your own mat and a bath sized towel with you. If you already own a set of Slings Massage Balls, then please bring your own along, otherwise they will be provided. Due to the cooler weather, it would be advisable to dress warmly, in layers and bring a blanket for the quiet portions of the session.
