My Free 10 Day Smoothie Challenge

Until recently, this was how I felt in the morning…. (side note, how cute are sloths!). Seriously though, I felt like this guy every morning. Waking up and needing a coffee desperately…but still having to drag myself to the kitchen in order to make the darn coffee I needed to drink!

My middle child is an asthmatic. For us, this means winter times dreadful months of being up half the night with a child who coughs incessantly and needs support. My husband also works FIFO and we have a breastfeeding youngest who wakes a couple of times a night too. So by the end of each winter I feel like a zombie who REALLY NEEDS their morning coffee!!

Our school has an on-site coffee shop (I know, we're so lucky!). I was finding so many mornings I'd feel the need to stop and have a second coffee just to wake my brain out of the fog.

As luck would have it, I stumbled across a free online 10 day smoothie challenge. It was run by an online health food store that I had purchased from in the past, called The Wholefood Collective. I tried most of the smoothies. All were delicious! It only took two mins to blend and a max of 15 minutes to prep (if I hadn't prepared it the night before). I honestly felt the difference after the very first one. It felt pretty virtuous to have had a serve of vegetables and fruits and the cacao powder in most of the recipes I tried meant that after 3 days, I didn't feel I needed my morning coffee. That’s really saying something!
