Fascial Movement
FAMO or Fascial Movement is a fascia-focused body-minded movement method. This mat-based training is enhanced with the use of our FAMO-specific soft therapy balls.
FAMO is based on the latest findings in research supporting the body-wide interconnectedness of muscles and fascia (connective tissue). We can identify lines or “slings” that connect us from head to toes and extremities to trunk. Through this research we also have clearer information supporting how we can holistically and deliberately train the fascia of the body.
Using our knowledge of fascial anatomy and the training principles of fascial movement, we prepare and design each class to achieve particular training outcomes. The movements are intentionally executed in a slow, rhythmical or dynamic manner, in different dimensions. Unwinding your old tension patterns, while strengthening, mobilizing, stabilizing, enhancing movement efficiency and improving the structural balance of your body are the outcomes of our style of training.
The sense of well-being and freedom after the class is priceless. Everyone becomes hooked on feeling this good!

It has been 16 years since Karin, Martina and myself, first opened the doors of our Subiaco studio on Coghlan Road, in the autumn of 2010. I want to acknowledge how grateful I am for the life enhancing, awe inspiring movement practice that FAMO is, and for each and everyone one of you, who have been part of our Sense of Space community in one way or another, whether for 16 weeks or 16 years. It's a beautiful thing to look back upon and realise how grateful you are for the connections you have made. Thank you for being part of that.
